Barker...
Yesterday I was walking with Julian to the store to pick up some things for dinner. About two blocks from our house there is a house that has a playful German shepherd dog; this dog runs back and forth along the fence line as you walk the sidewalk in front of the house and right when you get to the last corner of the property he begins to bark... it's the same every time.
As we were walking along I said to Julian, "Don't be scared okay, the dog always barks on the corner!" "I know Dad," Julian said. And as we got to the corner right at the same time the dog began to bark Julian jumps towards the dog in the position from the photo above and started barking and roaring at the dog. He then turned to me and said, "Don't worry Dad, I scared that dog!" I couldn't stop laughing.

Jade and Adrian
Jade and Adrian have been with me for the past few months and I wanted to share with you a cute story of them.
When out a few days after Julian was born to get some baby needs that Bruni made of a list of we were on the way to the store and I asked Adrian to read me the list so we know what we are getting.
Adrian: Diapers, wet wipes, pacifier, breast pads, baby nail clippers and last on the list dad is chocolate.
Jade: Dad what does Bruni need chocolate for?
Adrian: So Bruni can produce chocolate milk for Julian, of course.

Blast from the Past
Bernie, a Croatian friend I know from my days when I lived in the E.E. came with his son Alan and spent three weeks in our home. A few days before they left we had a kids party for Alan's birthday which Bernie organized. Here are some photos of the fun.

Easter
Yesterday was Easter and Paula and Nadia organized a kids club type activity day at the new home here in Cuernavaca. They had pool games, painted eggs and some treasure hunts involving prizes for the kids. Here's a couple photos from the day.

Self Motivation
I saw this video clip over on Angelina's blog of a little girls technique of self motivation. You should give it a try sometime esp if you feel like quitting.
Ange I hope you don't mind I borrowed the video without asking first, it's for the benefit of the world. Ha!

What I learned in Sunday school...
In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that.
Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did. Then God made the world. He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden. Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars.
Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel. Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.
One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.
After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.
Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable. God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff. Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother. One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.
After Joshua came David He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.
After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed upon the shore. There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.
After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of the New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn, too, because my mom is always saying to me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')
During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats. Jesus also had twelve opossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.
Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount. But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead.
Any way's, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution..

Childhood Friends
Tonight the 31st of Oct is when most people celebrate Halloween, I celebrated long time friends. I spent the evening with Daniel and Angie, friends of mine from my childhood that I haven't seen in nearly 10 years. They have two adorable children, Claire who's 5 and Aaron who's 2. The kids dressed up and went trick or treating and I tagged along pulling them in the wagon. Afterwards we had a spaghetti dinner and talked late into the night. If was fun. I will leave you with some photos.

CTP's with the Kids.
I have been involving the kids into the weekly CTP's that I do of our food distribution. I think is so important that children learn early the joy of giving. We give away twice a week, one day is fruits and veggies and the other is bread and bakery goods. Adrian has been a real help to me in the pickups and has made lots of friends at the markets.
Jade is such a little giver, she loves to give. It touches my heart to see how concerned she is to be on the team to give the food away. The other day while in the neighbourhood where we drop the food off she saw a little girl with messy hair and she asked if she could give the girl her hair elastic since she has lots of them. What could I say but "Sure Sweetie!?"
Here are some photos from our food run this morning.

Sleeping.
Today we had Home Council during QT and Jade was with the older boys playing in their room. One of the kids came to get me near the end of HC and told me Jade had gone to sleep at the top of the stairs waiting for me. This is how I found her. Poor thing, she had a short nap as I promptly moved and bathed her.

A Childs Concept of Time…
Six months before I rejoined in this home I came for a visit around Christmas of 2005 and Jessica (having then just turned 5) was all sweet and friendly and was very insistent on marrying me when she grew up.
Well the other day while taking care of the kids I heard Jessica telling one of the kids she was “going to marry so-and-so!” I interjected, “Jessica, I thought you were going to marry me.” “You’re too old for me!” she replied. “You’ll grow up, and then I won't be too old.” I said. She replied, “By then you’ll be dead!”
