I got invited yesterday to the benefit dinner in Mexico City hosted by the area there. Cel wrote up a great post about it with some photos. It was a fun night visiting with friends and playing bingo along with being able to witness.
The only photo I am going to post is this one of Cel and I since this is the first time that we have taken this kind of photo. She wants to use it for our Christmas card this year... I am not sure yet.
What do you think?

Sleeping with someone else....
Having been single for the past 3 1/2 years sleeping with someone every night is taking some getting used to again. Here's a short story about it...
The other night I had a happy dream. I dreamt I met an old time friend that I had not seen in years. I sat up in bed yelling and hollering--- “Hi!!!!! How are you? I haven’t seen ya’ for a long time you old dog. How is everything?”
The next night, at bedtime, my fiancee said to me, "The next time you dream of a friend, why don't you just wave at them?"
(For those who didn't already know: YES, I am engaged, since the 5th of Nov.)

Downtown Welfare Office
I was recently in the downtown welfare office when a woman walked in trailed by 15 kids. This is the conversation I over heard...
"WOW," the social worker exclaims, "Are they all yours?''
"Yep they're all mine," the flustered momma sighs, having heard that
question a thousand times before. I then heard her say, "Sit down Leroy." And all the children rushed to find seats.
"Well," said the social worker, "then you must be here to sign up.
I'll need all your children's names."
"Well, to keep it simple, the boys are all named Leroy and the
girls are all named Leighroy."
In disbelief, the case worker says, "Are you serious? They're ALL
named Leroy?"
Their momma replied, "Well, yes-it makes it easier. When it's time
to get them out of bed and ready for school, I yell, 'Leroy!'
An' when it's time for dinner, I just yell 'Leroy!' an they all
comes a runnin'. An' if I need to stop the kid who's running into the
street, I just yell Leroy' and all of them stop. It's the smartest
idea I ever had, naming them all Leroy."
The social worker thinks this over for a bit, then wrinkles her
forehead and says tentatively, "But what if you just want ONE kid to
come, and not the whole bunch?"
'Then I call them by their last names."

Not By Bread Alone...
...is an awesome food blog. Ali (BabyLove) in Japan manages this blog. I don't know her personally but her cooking is something that I have on my list of "must try before I die!" I am not a cook, but anyone who knows me or follows this blog knows I enjoy food. So even though her posts include recipes and step by steps of how to make the dishes she does I still think it's one of the better blogs I follow. To be able to link her blog, "Not by Bread Alone" here and to be able to count her a friend is an honor.
The collage above I found on her blog, all are dishes she made.

Echo Activity
With phase one of the Echo having ended and being I have 5 JT's from my home going through the Echo program we participated in a area Echo activity to celebrate those JT's who completed the first phase.
We went to a local water park for the day and unfortunately with all the fun and water I didn't end up taking any photos while there at the park. I did manage to get some while the 60+ of us had dinner at Domino's pizza. Here are a few group shots.

Benefit Dinner
Tonight I attended a benefit dinner hosted by the other home here in the city. It was great fun with good food, why they invited me I still don't know but it was nice.
The idea was pretty original I thought, they got the 10 top restaurants in the city to each have a sampling of their courses, buffet style. Each of these restaurants donated their time and food to help the benefit but also for the advertising pitch since the event was attended by some of the cities wealthiest people.
They of course had a family band providing music but they also had a wine tasting presentation that lasted about an hour and a half and 3 different wines were sampled. While they did the wine tasting show a famous local painter painted two paintings which were raffled off after the dinner. The paintings were done by inspiration using the descriptions and discussions about the wines.
In all about 60 benefactors attended and about 20 Family members. Dinner was buffet style where you could sample food from the 10 different restaurants as well as wine that was provided from the wine company doing the presentation. Each dinner table seated about 10 people which made for good dinner fellowship and witnessing.
Below are a few photos from the evening. Although I am saving food photos for another post.
